Today was just a day to get back home. No real events to relate, but thought I would give a little more information about the trip. My plan is to do somewhere between 3 to 5 loops to get to all of the states. The problem with this is that it means that I will be crossing some states more than once. Right now, I'm beginning to think that Georgia will top out as the state most visited. My plan is to stay off the interstates as much as possible. I realize that in some cases I will probably jump on them just in order to make up some time, but this first jaunt was done entirely without putting a tire on any interstate. It definitely takes more time, but I really enjoy riding the secondary roads, and especially like going through the smaller towns. I also have a goal of dong a least one hundred miles (not sure about Rhode Island) in each State. I don't want to just cut the corner in order to say that I rode in that State. Without a doubt, I have already realized that I am going to miss an awful lot of things along the way. There is just so much to see and visit out there, that there is no way to do it all. Even though I hope to visit the parks and national monuments, this trip is really about the riding and what you see as you are going down the road. One other point to make, is that I am not camping on this trip. I don''t mind camping, but that entails hauling more gear than I want to take. I won't be staying at Hilton's, but I will be spending my nights in motels along the way. I might also add, that these posts are being done through a tablet, and as such it means it is being done with two finger typing. This means that there will be plenty of typo's and lots of misspelled words. Some of the posts might be a little short, but I will try to post something every day. Okay, so I am at home now, and realistically probably won't start out again until some time in May when it has warmed up. I'm planning on that being the big West Coast swing. You never know though, if we get a stretch of warm weather earlier, I might just consider going down to Louisiana. All for now
Rob - I'm as envious today as I was when you took retirement at a reasonable age and when you climbed Devil's Tower for your 50th. Keep on blogging as I'm looking forward to keeping up with your exploits.
